I am not watching these Live Earth Gigs as I believe that they are creating a lot of CO2 transporting the stars around the world. Instead of having US acts perform in the US, UK acts in London etc, Al Gore et al have flown around the world, which not only costs a lot but also generates loads of additional CO2 emissions. Also do the stars that are performing really care about the environment or are they doing to boost record sales? How many of the stars are going to reduce
their carbon foot print? They will still be flying around in their private jets and driving their 4x4s?

I had exactly the same conversation with my wife this morning. I came to the same conclusion as you!
I think if they turned the power off for 30 minutes in all western counties, then we might understand the implications of our use of natural resources and it's effect on the planet. That may make people sit up and think more than a concert that will be forgotten tomorrow.
